Santa Claus Note sold for $ 40,000!!
2015-12-10 Thu
Our favourite St. Nicholas Claus a.k.a. Santa Claus was depicted on notes! Santa Claus vignettes were chosen by some banks to help acquire confidence and goodwill. The notes depict a original thinner Dutch version of Sinterlkaas as well as the fatter and the popular Americanised version of the Santa Claus. Most of the notes with Santa Claus vignettes are scarce to extremely rare. Heritage Currency in 2011 presented the Roger H. Durand Santa Claus Note Collection in FUN Signature Currency Auction in Orlando.
Santa Claus vignettes are much sought after banknotes. This is certain from the fact that one Santa Claus circulation note was sold at $40,000 in a recent auction!
